As 2017 comes to an end (tonight at midnight) and we usher in a new year, I decided to make this blog post a bit different then the previous posts and reflect more on what this year has looked like for Rising Simplicity!
Bear with me as I smile from ear to ear at the tremendous amount of love and support that so many people have offered along this journey!!! I’ll start with the most current stats during this busy baking season!
Wow, over 3000 Dark Chocolate Caramels were made in just a 60 day time frame this past November and December; that’s crazy!!! For a while, I was making several batches a day, every day, day in and day out!!! I am confident in saying, I’ve got that recipe down! LOL
Not only did I make a lot of Caramels but I was busy baking and delivering Cookies, Scones, Bars, Quick Breads and my newest addition, Sweet and Salty Nutty Mix. The finishing touches of tissue, labels, and pretty packaging add a special touch to the finished products.
In addition to the Bakery Delicacy aspect of Rising Simplicity I held several Meal Planning Workshops over the course of 2017. Many people attended and I’ve had the privilege of hearing from so many that are implementing some of these concepts into their own daily Meal Prepping. Included in this is the workshop held at Marisolio (In Murphys) this Summer and what a fun time that was!!!
I participating in a few vendor events this Fall as well and they proved to be a lot of fun and a great opportunity to meet more amazing people I would have never crossed paths with!
October 7th, was the Eggplant Festival and my daughter Ashley came along and assisted me the entire day!!! What a trooper! We demonstrated Eggplant Ratatouille and the people came out of nowhere to get there samples! It was a hit! You can get the recipe under the FREE tab on my website.
Nov. 4th was a vendor event called, Glamour put on by Steinmart in Rocklin! I got acquainted with the two other vendors and really enjoyed the festivities to usher in the Season with glitz and glamour!!!
And then, just a couple weeks later on November 18th, was a vendor event that has been going on for 15 years and collects Toys for local children to be delivered by the Lions Club! I met lots of great people and really enjoyed spending the day with some amazingly talented and likeminded businesswomen.
I have met so many amazing people, including other women entrepreneurs that I have had the honor of meeting with on a monthly basis this year at Placer Womens Network.
I provided desserts for numerous organizations, baby showers, bridal showers, private parties and individuals. I made up gift baskets, door prizes and donations to several local groups as well as provided countless employee treats to many local places of employment.
I’ve tried a few new things as well as let go of few old things! I’ve been stretched, challenged, frustrated, discouraged, encouraged and elated as well. I’ve learned a lot about myself, my abilities and limitations and am still grasping what skills to fine tune more in the coming year. All in all, it has a been a great year and I am really looking forward to continuing to grow Rising Simplicity as I move into a new year.
I want to wish each of you a very Happy New Year and thank you for your continued support.
