I was fortunate to graduate from a well known Culinary Academy, Le Cordon Bleu, but don’t let that intimidate you. I really am not all that fancy! Culinary School was always on my bucket list, so I made it happen a few years ago. It really was fascinating and the opportunity it created for me to extern as a Pastry Chef in Istanbul, Turkey was an experience of a lifetime.
I was immersed in a thriving bakery operation that gave me the confidence and inspiration to return to the U.S. and do what I love to do in the comfort of my own kitchen (and country). Through a series of ups and downs, navigating through uncharted territory and plenty of changes, Rising Simplicity began.
My husband and I have a combined number of 11 adult kids (this includes their spouses), 16 Grandchildren and a whole lot more extended family. We love our family and although some do not live nearby, gatherings around a bounty of delicious food is something we strive to make happen as often as possible. We enjoy preparing food together, sharing recipes and culinary creativities.
We also love staying active in the great outdoors, attending and serving at our church, doing home projects together, ballroom dancing and creating memories with family and friends!
I am so grateful to God for this season of life that I am in, embracing one day at a time as a gift. I have an amazing husband, a beautiful family, really awesome friends and an opportunity to do what I love to do.
Blessings to you, Jeanette
